Norfolk And Norwich Festival 2013: Soul Rebels + Ronnie Scott's All Stars
If jazz music is the heart of New Orleans, then The Soul Rebels’ music is the blood that pumps through the city’s veins. They embrace the rich jazz traditions of their homeland but add life-affirming vocals and hip-shaking grooves aplenty. Couple those elements to funk, ska and hip-hop, with vocal harmonies, catchy horn lines and more solos than you can shake a stick at, and you have a good-time party band like no other, with an infectious energy that’s impossible to resist.
Hard-driving combo, The Ronnie Scott's All-Stars led by pianist James Pearson, and featuring MOBO nominated singer-songwriter Natalie Williams establish the mood for the evening in their opening set.
