Show Me A Story: Anna Ivanova-Brashinskaya
This masterclass focuses on the development of purely visual narrative, introducing participants to the basic elements of dramatic art as applied to the telling of stories without words.
Using suggested classic texts and narratives participants develop their visual storytelling skills and understanding through practical assignments executed individually and in small groups.
They explore ways in which plot, mood and character development can be articulated and expressed with imagination and passion purely through movement and gesture, and the use and manipulation of objects and other selected materials and media.
Anna Ivanova-Brashinskaya
Born in St Petersburg, Anna Ivanova-Brashinskaya has worked internationally in professional puppet theatre and theatre education for over 20 years. From 1995 to 2001 she was a professor and the Head of the Puppetry Department at the St Petersburg Theatre Arts Academy.
Since 2001 Anna has taught at the Turku Academy of Arts (Finland) and continues to write and lecture extensively throughout Europe about puppetry and the directing of visual and puppet theatre shows.
