Humble Boy
Blending Ayckbourn’s comedy of family relationships with Stoppard’s wit, Humble Boy rings with Shakespearean echoes.
400 years after Shakespeare gave us Hamlet, the most famous depressive in world literature, another unhappy son returns home from university for his father’s funeral to find his mother in love with a man he despises.
In a Cotswold garden, astrophysicist Felix Humble mourns the loss of his father’s beloved bees and seeks a unified theory of everything whilst avoiding the black holes of failure, love and grief.
