In April 1599 Will Kempe famously set out to dance all the way from London to Norwich – 125 miles of muddy paths and awful weather, entertaining an adoring public along the way. What began in a fit of pique and shameless self promotion has gone down in history as one of the most brilliant a publicity stunts of all time - the original Nine Day's Wonder.

The play tells the story of the first in a long line of troubled comic geniuses, those brilliant entertainers who have the secret of making people laugh but who also have a dark side.
