The Ipswich Musicians' Union Big Band was formed 30 years ago as a rehearsal band by local musicians wanting to play big band jazz for their own pleasure. Since that time they have established an enviable reputation playing concerts, festivals and jazz clubs in our region and beyond.

The band's repertoire ranges from standards to more contemporary arrangements by Sammy Nestico, Maynard Ferguson and Gordon Goodwin. Led by trumpeter David Bolton, the IMU is undoubtedly one of East Anglia's most exciting big bands.
