Enjoy this special Valentine’s Day performance with three sublime romantic classics, opening with the popular tale of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers in Tchaikovsky’s Romeo And Juliet Fantasy Overture. The Orchestra is joined by violinist Tamsin Waley Cohen, a performer of ‘fearless intensity’ (The Guardian), who will perform Mendelssohn’s passionate, enchanting Violin Concerto. Completing the concert is Dvo?ák’s Symphony No.9, ‘From The New World’, which was inspired by his travels across America and drew the Romantic era to a powerful close.
