Riverford Pumpkin Day

Veg box producer Riverford is inviting you to pull on your wellies and join them down on the farm for their legendary Pumpkin Day being held this year on Saturday 25 October from 11am-4pm at Home Farm, Newby Wiske.

Children's activities include pumpkin carving, face painting and vegetable games. Next up they can enjoy some balloon modelling or take a tractor ride around the farm to see where Riverford grows the veg for its boxes. There will also be plenty of opportunities to get digging for earthworms as part of Riverford's Big Worm Dig - a fun and simple earthworm survey designed to boost our knowledge of the British earthworm population.

There's lots for the grown-ups too. Enjoy live music from local folk band, Fiddlyn Man Doris, cookery demonstrations and sampling from Riverford franchisee and cook Gwen Young, take a stroll around the beautiful farm and perhaps do a bit of wildlife spotting, or string some chillies to make an original Christmas present.
