Movie mogul David O. Selznick has a problem; he has shut down production on the most eagerly awaited movie in motion picture history - film adaptation of the blockbuster Gone With the Wind. Managing to engage the services of Hollywood script doctor Ben Hecht and director Victor Fleming, Selznick locks himself and the reluctant duo in his office for 5 days in order to re-write the script. Surviving only on peanuts and bananas whilst acting out the characters from the novel, a creative vision finally emerges as hunger and fatigue take their toll, tempers flare and a Hollywood classic is born.
