The QIPCO Guineas Festival

This fabulous weekend of horseracing is always compelling – and always stylish. Racegoers come from near and far to savour two of the most eagerly-anticipated afternoons in the racing calendar.

The QIPCO 2000 Guineas is one of the most important races in the world! Kingston Hill and War Command both won big races at The Rowley Mile on Dubai Future Champions Day. Now these two equine stars are on schedule to go head-to-head in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas. Of course, there are more than a few others who will fancy their chances of emerging triumphant from the year’s first Classic…

The QIPCO 1000 Guineas is 200 years old this year, it was first run is 1814. A milestone year for the Classic looks sure to be celebrated with a brilliant winner. Among the contenders are Rizeena and Vorda – each of whom proved themselves top-class in 2013.

During the QIPCO Guineas Festival and the three-day Spring Meeting, an exhibition of photographs and personal artefacts from Sir Henry Cecil’s home at Warren Place will be on display in front of the Millennium Grandstand.

Included in the exhibition is the medal presented to Sir Henry when he was knighted by The Queen. In addition, a collection of photos depicting the life of Sir Henry from early childhood to the end of his glittering career has been put together by his widow Lady Cecil, including some personal photos from his home.
