North by East

North By East is the result of a collaboration between singer-songwriter Gareth Davies-Jones and flautist Calum Stewart. Gareth was born and raised in the North East of Ireland and now lives in the North East of England, Calum is originally from the North East of Scotland and has worked extensively in the North East of England. Taking songs and tunes from each of these three distinctive regions of the British Isles Gareth and Calum have put together an evocative, compelling and engaging evening of entertainment. You’ll laugh, you’ll sing along, you’ll see some sights and take in the view as you embark upon a musical journey through the North Country, all from the comfort of your local venue. Throughout the evening the stories that lie behind the music add an extra dimension as the artists share something of their own musical heritage and the impact that the landscape, people and places of the North East regions have had on their writing and performance. A show for all the family.
