The Cherry Orchard

Having staged a number of Russian classics (performed in Russian and English) at the theatre in the last three years, they are proud to be doing this production, performed this time with an English speaking cast and which puts a slight twist on the motive of Loparkin. Many Russian scholars have given another reason for the purchase of the land that made up the Cherry Orchard, but always overlooked in performances done outside of Russia. Put in context, it was what was happening with Chekhov at the time he wrote the play.
