ALBINONI Sonata in B flat for violin and continuo So34;
VIVALDI Suonata à Solo fatto per Monsieur Pisendel in F RV19.

Be transported to Venice for a concert featuring the music of the great master Antonio Vivaldi and one of the great violin virtuosi of that generation, Johann Georg Pisendel (1687-1755). The programme brings together six virtuosic sonatas; two fabulous works by Vivaldi and one by Albinoni which are dedicated to Pisendel, a piece by Montanari which survives in Pisendel’s own hand, and two effervescent works by Pisendel himself.

There will be a free pre-concert talk at 7:00pm by Adrian Chandler, La Serenissima director and violinist. He will talk about life and times of the virtuoso violinist Johann Georg Pisendel.
