La Finta Giardiniera
A new production transferring straight from Glyndebourne Festival 2014. Seven characters, each in search of true love, enter a maze of delusion and confusion from which they emerge sadder but wiser. The first performance of La Finta Giardiniera took place in 1775, a few weeks before Mozart's 19th birthday. His brilliance flowered astonishingly early and all his brightest powers of invention are on display here.
