Setting Up A Craft Business

Patricia van den Akker of The Design Trust delivers this session on the practicalities of setting up a craft business – looking at issues such registering a business, bookkeeping basics, protecting your intellectual property, raising invoices and fulfilling orders. The session is focused on craft makers and designer-makers but will also contain some advice suitable for a wide range of artists.

The Design Trust is an online business school for designers and makers. Patricia has worked with hundreds of small creative businesses in the last 15 years, and is an expert in creative business development, planning, business models, marketing and selling.
