Bloc Party
Reared on a diet of pop culture and good music, Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong met through the small ads of the music press to create a band who now make the headlines. Ask them their influences, and they say they've been influenced by it all. Live, Bloc Party '...rip through new classics...like they've written them 20 minutes before the gig - the ferocity and adrenaline of youth shines through the angular rhythms and layers of effects.' Taking a cross section from 70s horror films, a fixation with ancient societies, and a love for percussive electronic music, Chromatics keep it minimal. The synthesizers handle the cosmic elements, the guitar takes care of the moodier edge, and the drums are stripped down to a dirty disco for dancing.

A series of single releases and extensive touring throughout 2012 gained the London trio a wealth of fans and supporters. The band release their eponymous debut album via Transgressive Records in February 2012. Think Talking Heads and Bombay Bicycle Club with a healthy helping of sun-kissed calypso!
