Saturday Science: The Big Bang Seen By The Planck Satellite

Join enthusiastic local scientists and engineers a with fascinating demonstrations, fun hands-on activities and informal chat.

The ESA Planck Satellite, launched in 2009, has surveyed the entire sky to examine faint ripples in the Cosmic Microwave Background, a faint glow that permeates the entire universe. These ripples later developed into the stars and galaxies we can see today. Come and see exciting new hot-off-the-press data and the best full sky map ever measured.

Although Saturday Science sessions are designed to be suitable for all ages, they usually contain elements specifically for children and families.
