Saturday Science: The ALMA Telescope
Join enthusiastic local scientists and engineers a with fascinating demonstrations, fun hands-on activities and informal chat.
ALMA stands for the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array. It is an array of radio telescopes being constructed in Chile (and is currently the most expensive telescope under construction in the world). Come and see the new astronomical images coming from ALMA and try your own hand at producing images from multiple antennae.
Although Saturday Science sessions are designed to be suitable for all ages, they usually contain elements specifically for children and families.
