Perspectives14 is a series of monthly talks and discussions led by artists and historians at IWM North to mark the First World War Centenary.
What happened to casualties injured on the Western Front during the First World War?
Professor Christine Hallett, Historical Advisor and Script Consultant to the BBC drama series The Crimson Field and Director of the UK Centre for the History of Nursing and Midwifery, will share details of the care and treatment that was given to wounded soldiers by nurses and VAD-volunteers from the Western Front to the home front.
After the talk Christine will be sign copies of her new book ‘Veiled Warriors: Allied Nurses of the First World War’ in the shop.
