We've got something for kids on every single day this Summer Holiday! Visitors of all ages can get involved in family workshops, tours, games and activities.

Throughout the summer discover fun and games inspired by children’s past times from almost 100 years ago. The whole family can get involved in craft activities, object handling and tours. Play hopscotch on a war time street, meet charming puppet characters in interactive story telling sessions and decorate your own vintage toys:

Family Friendly Tour: From Street to Trench
Daily until Sunday 31 August at 1.30pm (ideal for ages 7+)
A special family friendly tour of our major First World War Centenary exhibition, From Street To Trench: A World War That Shaped A Region. Walk down a terraced street and learn about the lives of children like Gwendolen Price, an 11 year old school girl from Liverpool who sent letters and gifts to soldiers serving on the Western Front.

Storytelling session: Abdul and Ali’s First World War
Daily throughout August at 10.30am (all ages)
Meet puppet characters Abdul and Ali, brothers from India who bravely fight for Britain in the First World War. As one brother serves in the scorching heat of the desert, the other takes on the muddy surroundings of the trenches. Their paths lead them miles apart but exchanging letters keeps them close at heart.
