Christian Responses To The Holocaust

The Centre for Jewish Studies and the Department of History, University of Manchester and IWM North present a one-day conference, Christians responses to the Holocaust.

The conference will explore how Christians across Europe and in the UK responded to the Nazi persecution of the Jews under threat of persecution and deportation. The place of Holocaust memory in today’s Jewish-Christian relations will also be considered.

Conference speakers: Peter Kurer (refugee from Vienna 1938), Dr Hannah Holtschneider (University of Edinburgh), Dr Christian Goeschel (University of Manchester), Dr Ion Popa (University of Manchester), Reverend Canon Steve Williams (Saint Gabriel, Prestwich)

Academic programme organised by Dr Jean-Marc Dreyfus, Reader in Holocaust Studies, University of Manchester
