Steve Walker's Big Swing Band

Opening on the 70th anniversary of D Day, this new show by Paula Baldwin commemorates the historic event with a night of the music that kept everyone's spirits up in the War. The musical programme, directed by Major (retd) Paul Murrell, then progresses through the Ration Book years of the Fifties and on to a new dawn of big band sounds.

There will be Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw of course moving through to Lennie Niehaus, Sammy Nestico and even Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. Vocalists Gary Grace, Sara Blair Manning and Christine Scott will evoke memories of Sinatra, Ella, Etta James, Vera Lynn, Matt Munro, Nat King Cole and a host of stars from the days of vinyl records. The Jump Jive Alive dancers will be there to bring back the dance routines of the day. This is the Band's seventh year at the Riverhead with a new show every year.
