Baladi Blues Reloaded
Guy Schalom described as "one of the most interesting and versatile percussionist working in the UK today" (fROOTS) leads Egyptian urban dance music veterans the Baladi Blues Ensemble to launch their new album: BALADI BLUES RELOADED - in an on-stage collaboration with electro-funk superstars Transglobal Underground + Kamel Nitrate.
The Baladi Blues Ensemble plays the urban Egyptian dance music known as Baladi. Their music echoes the fast-paced, urban sounds of 1950's Cairo, whilst emphasising the uncompromising vision of band leader Guy Schalom.
Schalom's ground-breaking work with the Baladi Blues Ensemble has succeeded to elevate Egyptian Baladi from a niche genre into the wider public consciousness. This show showcases the group's latest material in collaboration with members of the award-winning Transglobal Underground and Kamel Nitrate.
