A spectacular display of trumpets, trombones and tubas opens the concert in Strauss’s thrilling brass fanfare. Janá?ek’s Sinfonietta also features an array of trumpets and intricate tunes. Tchaikovsky is known for writing catchy melodies, and this symphony doesn’t disappoint as the full powers of the orchestra are unleashed in the last movement.
