Exploring the deepest questions of life and the universe: 'en:tropi' - a new quintet led by saxophonist Dee Byrne (a recent graduate from Trinity College of Music Masters programme) plays original compositions that lend themselves to 'Exploration' -the title of one of Byrne's compositions and a manifesto for the group. Expect heavy grooves juxtaposed with outbreaks of swing; tight arrangements mixed with open-ended improvisation and abstract harmony mixed with melodic departures.
