Enduring Love: Pragma

A weekend exploring Pragma – enduring love – as part of Festival of Love.

Our Festival of Love is inspired by seven Ancient Greek words for different types of love.

Pragma refers to the love between a married couple which develops over a long period of time. The love which endures in sickness and in health. The love which makes a friend care for their former school friend who has become vulnerable in later life.

At the heart of the weekend is a giant celebratory meal to which we have invited older couples, young carers and their families, and elderly residents from care homes and day care centres, whose stories of enduring love we share with you.

Throughout the weekend you are invited to take part in activities inspired by nurturing and cultivation, taking your time, and making together.

Learn about companion plants and why certain species thrive by growing together; take the time to make a pinhole camera and be rewarded by the unexpected; pass on your words of wisdom for a successful and lasting relationship as a beautiful gift to others embarking on this journey; or participate in a social dance that celebrates the cycles of life.
