Never miss another 'The Orb' show
25th Anniversary Tour: The Orb + System 7 + Nick Manasseh
The Orb is celebrating it's unique position as one of the few names to emerge from the 1988 acid house revolution still creating vital new music with a special 25th anniversary show at The Forum.
The silver jubilee shows are both testament to the longevity of a uniquely original British musical talent and guarantee of an evening of floor-shaking grooves, warmly-surreal humour and the original euphoric spirit which turned acid house into the biggest youth revolution since punk rock.
The brainchild of Dr Alex Paterson - former Killing Joke roadie, member of Kill Bloodsports, and an employee of EG Records - The Orb were at the forefront of the development of ambient house with the euphoria-inducing sounds that have made them international club favourites.
The Orb tour dates
Centered around the creative powerhouse of Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, this group has been making superbly uplifting psychedelic techno and ambient music since their inception in 1990. Collaborations include The Orb and Eat Static and they are also one of the few techno groups to widely embrace the sound of the good old GEETAR.
Their live show is Floydesque in its scope complete with lights, strobes, and backdrops - but no flying beds or pigs. Essentially deep and stimulating psychedelic party music, for those who know how to have a good time.
