The King And The Corpse
A wild and ritual-soaked evening of ancient Northern Indian stories-with-music by acclaimed Transglobal duo TUUP (The Unorthodox, Unprecedented Preacher) and sitarist Sheema Mukherjee.
In a rich collaboration of sound and narrative delivered with customary boundless charisma, TUUP and Sheema gleefully reveal the story of a King's eventful encounter with the corpse of a hanged man that just won't stay dead. Night after night, the corpse, possessed by a riddle-mongering spirit, reappears and forces the King to solve a new riddle or suffer a messy and violent death. With each new riddle, the King - with a little help from the audience - discovers what he knows, what he cannot know, what he will never know, and plenty more besides.
