Chorus of Dissent, Elastic Band

In a year of commemoration of war, we focus instead on peace and reconciliation with a concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of the tearing down of the Berlin Wall.

Featuring Beethoven's Ode To Joy, we sing it as it was performed in Berlin on Christmas Day 1989, using 'Freiheit' (Freedom) instead of 'Freude'. That concert brought together many musicians who had been unable to perform together. In that spirit of togetherness, we are joined by our friends from other local choirs. The programme will also include other music on the themes of peace and joy.
