Music Makers, Barnes Concert Band

This special concert brings together two long-established music groups The Music Makers of London and the Barnes Concert Band with very different styles. Their performances focus on politically-inspired freedom music with works by Barnes-resident Gustav Holst, contemporary works by Kenneth Leighton and Will Todd and jazz arrangements by Scott Joplin and other American deep south composers.

The Music Makers of London are a small chamber choir based in Barnes which have a particular emphasis on a capella choral music. The Barnes Concert Band is a symphonic wind-based band based in Barnes which brings together woodwind, brass and percussion to promote the advancement of concert band music.
