BBC Singers at Six - Magyar Music
Hungary boasts long traditions of fine choral singing and training – especially through the pioneering work of composer-educationists such as Zoltan Kodaly.
The choral repertoire in this part of Eastern Europe is highly-developed too and in this concert James Morgan pilots the BBC Singers through a concert giving a bird’s-eye-view of this fascinating but – in England – seldom-heard music, with choral works by Kodály, Bartók, Ligeti and lesser-known composers such Levente Gyöngyösi and Miklós Kocsár.
