Boro: Threads Of Life

Translated to ‘rags’ in English, boro is the collective name for items made by the poor, rural population of Japan. This exhibition features rare, historic indigo fabrics, pieced and patched between the late eighteenth to the early twentieth centuries and are now given a new lease of life in a different guise.
