Serpentine Park Nights 2014
Between June and October 2014, Serpentine Galleries present Park Nights, an annual series of live art, poetry, music, film, literature, performance and theory. This summer, eight events have been conceived to take place on selected Friday evenings in the unique environment of the Serpentine Pavilion 2014, designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radic.
Artist Heather Phillipson presents a live audio-sculptural event, squeezed around the Pavilion's architecture. Inserting voices, bodies and live and pre-recorded music into the building's orifices and recesses, alongside temporary sculptural set pieces, Phillipson ignites its visual and sonic axes with one-night-only poetic oddity.
Heather Phillipson works across video, sculpture, sound, text and live events. Recent solo exhibitions and events include Tate Britain, Bunker259 (New York), BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Whitechapel Gallery, the ICA and a video commission for Channel 4 television. She is also an award-winning poet.
