Artrocker Magazine Awards: Tall Ships + Dark Horses + Public Service Broadcasting
Taking inspiration from the old Brat awards, this year’s event will be a real rock’n’roll party, crowning the winners of 13 award categories. Artrocker are best known for their honest guide to new music. To reflect this and involve music fans, this year’s Awards are open for public voting.
“The second annual Artrocker Awards will follow on from where the last one finished – at the bar,” says Marc Sallis, Artrocker Editor. “The Artrocker Awards are about the music, the bands and giving the industry and the public a great event with a line-up that will recall the heady days of The Brats and inject some much needed drunken fun and rock'n'roll back into the industry. It's Rock'n'Roll in its simplest and rawest form."
Tall Ships
Tall Ships are an instrument swapping, loop pedal abusing machine who wield so many moves you won't know where to look! The trio fuse the energy and stylings of Battles and Foals with influences as wide ranging as Why?, Prince and Explosions In The Sky to form a dynamic musical marvel, full of excitement and intricacies. Signed to Big Scary Monsters, they won a lot of new fans on their recent tour with Tubelord.

Dark Horses
Dark Horses may wallow in their pretty surfaces but their musical merits can't be denied. The 'Horses won the coveted 'Best Single Of The Year 2012' at the prestigious Artrocker Awards for their effortless composition 'Radio', voted for by the readers of Artrocker. Dark Horses also travelled across Europe and Australia in 2012, as hand-picked guests of both Sigur Ros and Beck and with more nocturnes planned, 2013 promises to be an electric adventure for all.
