Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts Berlioz's dramatic and spine tingling Requiem.

'If I were threatened with the burning of all of my works except one,' Berlioz once confessed, 'it is for the Requiem that I would beg for mercy.'

The great Frenchman unleashes an awesome range of expression, from the merest vocal and instrumental whispers to the all-engulfing 'Tuba mirum', which features eight pairs of rumbling timpani and four additional brass ensembles.
