Orff's magical masterpiece cantata of medieval poems 'Carmina Burana' tells of the ephemeral, cyclical nature of life, with all its pleasures and perils. Zoltan Kodaly's deeply felt 'hymn to hope' Missa Brevis, composed as a response to the wartime plight of his nation, completes the programme. The Bach Choir, Philharmonia Orchestra and a host of talented soloists perform these iconic and enduringly popular works, under the baton of David Hill.
