Classical Coffee Morning
To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Richard Strauss, the programme includes his brilliantly impassioned Cello Sonata and works by those Strauss-related composers such as Wagner and Mahler, arranged by the renowned cellist and Yuki Ito's teacher David Geringas.
Yuki also performs songs by Brahms, which are rarely played in a cello recital, the famous Fansatiestücke and his own arrangement of Rachmaninov's Spring Waters.
Yuki Ito has always enjoyed the late Romantic works, and his debut CD Complete Rachmaninov Cello Works was chosen as 'The Month's Recommended Disc' by the Strad Magazine in January 2013.
