Nordoff Robbins Fundraiser
Gary Barlow is heading back to the beautiful and intimate setting of London’s Royal Albert Hall for a very special night of music in aid of music charity, Nordoff Robbins.
The concert will take place on Tuesday 22 April 2014 and is an opportunity to raise much needed funds for Nordoff Robbins, to support the music therapy work the charity carries out around the UK.
Gary says: “I feel really honoured to have been asked to perform for Nordoff Robbins. It is a charity that makes such a difference to people’s lives, using music to give a voice to those who don't always have one. We had such an amazing time at the Royal Albert Hall the last time we were there so I know it's going to be a very special, intimate show.”
Nordoff Robbins is a music therapy charity, dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults. They work with people who have a range of challenges such as autism, dementia, depression and physical and learning disabilities. Music therapy is a specialist use of music to help people in many different ways – for some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones and helps many to communicate where they have struggled to do so previously. The results of music therapy can have a profound impact on individuals and their families and all those around them.
Nordoff Robbins have just launched their 2013 Christmas Appeal, with a short animated film featuring Emeli Sandé. For more info and to watch the film, visit www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/MusicIsMedicine or search for #MusicIsMedicine.
