End Of The World Double Bill: Miracle Mile / Last Night

While it may not look like 2012 will bring about the end of days as was foretold (touch wood), Savage Cinema have nonetheless decided to close a triumphant opening year at the Roxy with an awesome off-kilter Apocalyptic double bill.

In Steve De Jarnatt's brilliant cult classic Miracle Mile, a geeky LA musician (Anthony Edwards) meets the girl of his dreams... but it just so happens to be on the same night he accidentally discovers World War III is breaking out, and the missiles are flying their way. With just over an hour until the end of the world as we know it, can he rescue the girl and get out of LA in time?

Don McKellar's hilarious, deeply moving Last Night brings together the cream of Canadian acting talent, including Sarah Polley, Sandra Oh and even David Cronenberg. On the last 24 hours before the world will end (the cause unknown to us), a varied ensemble of characters show us a myriad of responses to the world's end, from suicide pacts to orgies and beyond!
