Wonderful gravelly-voiced jazz and soul singer who invests every song with real feeling and who can switch from rollicking up tempo swing to a heartfelt ballad in the blink of an eye; be joyously funky one second and heart-breakingly tender the next. She’s also a superlative pianist and a funny, charismatic performer and appears here with a brilliant trio featuring bassist Roger Carey and drummer Mark Fletcher.
