The Russians In Britain (Stanislavski On Stage Series)
17th January 2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavski, the Russian actor and director who became globally acclaimed as the world's first theatre practitioner and theorist. Pushkin House and the Stanislavski Centre at Rose Bruford College are marking this anniversary wih a series of events.
On Wednesday 27th February, Professor Jonathan Pitches from the University of Leeds will be talking about his recent book, The Russians in Britain. Published by Routledge, this collection of essays traces the the ways in which Stanislavski teaching influenced the development of British theatre in the 20th century.
