Japanese-born piano genius Makoto Kuriya graduated from West Virginia University with a major in linguistics, but he was drawn to studying music. He is now devoting his efforts to "authenticating Japanese jazz" - maintaining a distinctive cultural identity and bringing a Western-free localized Japanese jazz to the world!
Tony Lakatos - this Hungarian saxophonist was born into a very well-known Magyar musical family. He is currently based in Frankfurt, Germany and has played on over 300 LPs/CDs either as a lead or sideman. Tony Lakatos has collaborated with an array of international jazz artists ranging from Terri Lyne Carrington and Randy Brecker via Jimmy Scott.
