Road To Carnival - CarniRIOT
On Saturday NHAC presents a Carnival soundclash with a difference: Rio meets Notting Hill meets Trinidad and Tobago!
The night kicks off with CarniRIOT, a spectacular musical that presents the tragedy, survival and victory of 'Windrush'-era West Indians in post-war London, featuring five decades of Carnival Culture presented by the Tiny Tobago theatre group.
DJ Gladdy Wax, who brings at least 25 years of Carnival sound system experience to the decks, spins around the show and he's followed by maverick mixmaster Gringo Da Parada who spins a Rio Calling mix of Brazilian and cosmopolitan tuneage from baile funk to post-punk and samba-rock to tecnobrega...
