Melange
Formed in 2009 by world music and jazz cellist Shirley Smart, Melange are a fiery and exciting group of musicians with a huge range of music, from the Gnawa music of the south Moroccan desert, popular North African rai and chaabi songs, exotic Middle Eastern and Turkish melodies and improvisations, through Central Asia, to the fiery Tango of Argentina and the street Choro of Brazil,taking in the occasional Balkan tune and jazz number on the way.
