The Manner Of Men: 9 PARA's Heroic D-Day Mission: Colonel Stuart Tootal
Six hours before dawn on 6 June 1944, and the official beginning of D-Day, 9 PARA dropped into the darkness behind the German defences. Their mission: to destroy the heavily fortified German gun emplacement at Merville.
In this talk, Colonel Stuart Tootal will draw on the first-hand accounts of surviving veterans from both sides, detailed research and his own experiences of facing the odds of battle. He will tell the incredible story of a desperate band of brothers fighting their way to victory in the face of impossible odds.
