Howard Alden Trio

Tonight Howard plays Gypsy swing / jazz selections from “Sweet & Lowdown” plus other great tunes. He is supported by UK top Gypsy guitarist Ducato Piowtrowski and the famous bass player Simon Woolf.

"He may be the best of his generation," writes Owen Cordle in JazzTimes. Howard was the guitarist and guitar coach to Sean Penn (Academy Award nominee for his role as a legendary 30s jazz guitarist) who starred in Woody Allen’s movie "Sweet and Lowdown".

The London Observer has this to say about Alden's solo CD, My Shining Hour ; "If there is such a thing as a complete jazz guitarist, then Alden is it. Only a real virtuoso can sustain a whole CD of solo guitar with the aplomb he displays here".
