Nefarious Nakedness and Nudity
An evening of poetry – rude, nude, erotic and gay.
Conceived and curated by Belfast poet Vincent Creelan Nefarious Nakedness And Nudity showcases a selection of poetry on the subject of male nudity.
“The idea came out of a reading group during a queer arts festival where the ‘gay’ attendees were shocked by a reading involving actual descriptions of gay sex. The festival organiser suggested that more eroticism was called for and so I began to think about poems by gay poets that take nudity in hand – so to speak.”
With a selection of pieces confronting male nudity and eroticism from authors such as WH Auden, James Kirkup, Craig Raine, Robert Graves and Creelan’s own work Nefarious Nakedness And Nudity will challenge your preconceptions of the form once and for all.
