Minimalism Unwrapped: The Power Of Painsong
This programme focuses on music influenced by plainsong, the roots of which go back nearly a thousand years to the newly built cathedral of Notre Dame in the tiny medieval town of Paris. There with Leonin and Perotin the birth of polyphony began and subsequent composers evolved continuing to use plainsong as the basis of their music.
