Pre-launch Of MA Black? British Writing Course In Conversation

Acclaimed authors Bernardine Evaristo (‘Mr Loverman’, ‘Blonde Roots’, ‘The Emperor’s Babe’) and Andrea Stuart (‘Sugar in the Blood’, ‘The Rose of Martinique’) join Prof Joan Anim-Addo and Dr Deirdre Osborne to discuss their work and the facts and fictions of histories and herstories.

In writing that spans prose fiction, biography, verse novels and memoir, Evaristo and Stuart highlight and reveal unexpected angles to the complex stories of Black (African???) people’s cultural heritages in Britain.

In conversation together, and with the Convenors of the new MA Black? British Writing course, they discuss the roles of women writers in reforming, the subject-matter and perspectives on literature. Both authors will also read from their work - with audience Q&A an important part of the evening.
