Centenary Celebrations
Celebrate the centenary of the Geffrye Museum and tri-centenary of the Geffrye’s almshouses. Young people can create perplexing photo portraits, children can listen to almshouse animal stories, play historic garden games and make animal masks, and everyone can dance along to some live recycled rhythms.
Recycled Rhythms
Drum and dance along to The Rig’s weird and wonderful sounds, inspired by the historic rubbish beneath the Geffrye’s front lawns.
Suitable for all ages: 12.30-4.30pm
Baker family fun
Enjoy vintage garden games played by almshouse children in the 1800s.
Suitable for all ages: Drop in anytime from 1.00-4.00pm
Tales about Tails
Hear fun stories about all the amazing animals that have lived in the almshouses.
Suitable for all ages: 1.30-2.00pm and 3.00-3.30pm
Dangerous Disguises
Decorate your own marvellous animal masks inspired by creatures that have roamed the Geffrye.
Suitable for children aged 5+: Drop in anytime from 12.30-2.00pm and 3.00-4.30pm
