DM25 - What Next For Jacques Herzog?

Jacques Herzog is a Senior Partner at Herzog & de Meuron, the renowned Swiss architecture firm he established in 1978 with Pierre de Meuron. Born in Basel in 1950, Jacques studied architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) with Aldo Rossi and Dolf Schnebli. In 2002, he co-founded the ETH Studio Basel – Contemporary City Institute.

Herzog & de Meuron have designed a wide range of projects, from private homes to highly recognized public facilities, such as the National Stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the conversion of London’s Bankside Power Station into Tate Modern in 2000. Its extension, The Tate Modern Project, is scheduled to open in 2016.

Join Jacques as he talks to Design Museum Director Deyan Sudjic about his career and what Herzog & de Meuron is building next.
